Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 5, 2026 ยท Last updated: July 28, 2026 ยท Applies to the Cocktella iOS app
Cocktella is built to work without an account and without tracking. This policy explains the little data we do handle, why, and how you can delete it.
Who we are
Cocktella (the "app") is operated by Peyo Peev ("we", "us"), an independent developer based in Bulgaria. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us any time at peyopeev0206@gmail.com.
Using Cocktella as a guest
You can use the entire core app โ browsing recipes, your bar cabinet, favorites, shopping list, custom recipes, and your "I made this" journal โ without an account. In guest mode all of that data stays on your device only. We receive nothing.
If you create an account
Accounts exist to sync your data across devices and to take part in the community. When you sign up we store:
- Email address, and a password if you register with email (passwords are hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them)
- Profile details you choose: display name and optional profile photo
- Your synced app data: bar cabinet, favorites, shopping list, custom recipes, and cocktail journal
- Your community content: recipes you publish, ratings & reviews you write, and reports you submit
Published recipes and reviews are visible to other users together with your display name and profile photo โ never your email address.
Sign in with Apple or Google
You can also sign in with Apple or Google instead of a password. When you do, that provider confirms your identity to us and shares your name and email address so we can create and secure your account. We do not receive your Apple or Google password. If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, we only ever see the private relay address Apple generates for you, not your real email. We use this information solely to operate your account.
Feedback
If you use "Send Feedback" in the app, we receive your message, an optional screenshot you attach, and recent technical logs from the app to help us reproduce the problem.
Crash reports
If crash reporting is enabled, the app uses Sentry to report crashes and errors so we can fix them. Crash reports contain technical information (device model, OS version, app version, what the code was doing when it failed). Sentry is configured to not collect personal data, and we do not use it for analytics, advertising, or session tracking.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no ad networks
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers
- No behavioural analytics or cross-app tracking
- No location access, no contacts access
Where your data lives & international transfers
Account data and community content are hosted by Supabase (our database and authentication provider), and crash reports, when enabled, are processed by Sentry. Both act as data processors on our behalf. These providers may store or process data on servers located outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers (such as the providers' standard contractual clauses).
Why we're allowed to process your data (legal basis)
For users in the EU/UK, we process your data on these bases: to perform our agreement with you (providing your account, sync, and community features), with your consent where you choose to submit feedback or publish content, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and fixing crashes. Guest use involves no processing by us at all.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account data and synced content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your data or account (see below), we remove it from our live systems; residual copies in routine backups are overwritten on our providers' normal backup cycle. Crash reports, when enabled, are retained only for a limited period by Sentry and then deleted.
Your rights
You are in control of your data. Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, export it (data portability), and to restrict or object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by emailing us. EU/UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Content moderation
Community content can be reported by any user. Our moderators review reports and may hide or remove content that violates the Terms of Use. Moderation actions are logged.
Deleting your data
You are in full control:
- In the app: Profile โ "Delete all my data" permanently deletes your custom cocktails, favorites, cabinet, shopping list, journal, and โ if you're signed in โ your cloud data and your account itself.
- By email: contact us at the address below and we'll delete your account and data.
Age
Cocktella is about alcoholic drinks and is intended only for people of legal drinking age in their country. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Where local law sets a minimum age for consenting to online services, accounts are intended only for users who meet it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll note it in the app's release notes and update the "last updated" date above.
